Visualizing My Experience-Amal Fellowship
--
Amal Career Prep Fellowship is a 3 months long professional development program to help youth develop skills, resilience & positive attitude to pursue their dreams and be successful. I started my amazing journey as an Amal Fellow almost 3 months ago and It is about to end now.
I would really like to share briefly some of my learning from this fellowship with my fellows. It helped me to improve my writing, communication, leadership & team work skills. The more generous you are, the more you will be successful in your life, is another great learning. When I started my fellowship, I was very enthusiastic and passionate because I always love to learn new things in my life.
“ Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom” ~ Aristotle
When I see an eagle flying higher and higher in the sky, It reminds me of my first two 2 weeks at Amal Fellowship. Sometimes, in our lives, we create some delusional barriers around us that fade our full potential and we never get to see how amazing we are. These barriers can be in the form of fear of losing, relationships in which we place ourselves or any other negative approach doubting our strengths. The great power of an individual is how they see themselves.
What makes us go from low to strength is our own personal vision and if we begin to picture ourselves as the mighty and great eagles we are, we can weather storms and come up top. I believe eagles are supposedly the world’s best creatures, with principles of flying alone at high altitudes, having strong vision, loving the storms and using the wind to lift it higher, by plucking out old feathers from his body that hinders him to fly as far he should and waiting for new feathers to grow in his older age.
Those two weeks supported me to find the mighty eagle in me, my principles of life, my traits, my strengths, my purpose of living, in which areas I need improvement and helped me to explore my values. I defined my goals and designed possible strategies to achieve those goals efficiently. I also constructed my life map mentioning the happy and sad moments of my life that actually helped me to refresh all the cherished instances and to think about the learning from sad/bad experiences of my life.
I believe that finding ourselves is an ongoing process and it’s also not easy to figure out who we are and why we are here in the world. But I am really really grateful to the Amal team for giving me a direction to find the inner me. ❤
“It is imperative you stay in touch with your inner self so you don’t lose the essence of who you truly are.”
